Your notes never leave your device by default.

SwiftyNotes is a local-first app. Notes, tags, folders, and attachments live on your Mac or iPhone. We do not operate any server that sees your note contents. Ever.

iCloud sync is end-to-end encrypted by Apple.

If you turn on iCloud sync, your notes move through Apple's CloudKit service using a private database tied to your Apple ID. Apple holds the keys; we don't have access. If you enable Advanced Data Protection for iCloud on your devices, sync is E2E encrypted with only your devices holding the keys.

What we do collect (and only with consent).

If you opt in during first launch, we collect anonymous product analytics via PostHog — event names only (e.g. "note_created", "theme_changed"), no note content, no IP addresses stored past the session. You can disable this in Settings → Privacy at any time.

Payments.

Stripe handles all billing. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription tier, nothing else about your card. See Stripe's privacy policy for their handling.

No tracking pixels. No ads. No third-party analytics besides PostHog (opt-in).

The marketing site (swiftynotes.app) uses first-party analytics only. No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no cookies for ads.
